North American Mission Board:

The North American Mission Board exists to work with churches, associations and state conventions in mobilizing Southern Baptists as a missional force to impact North America with the gospel of Jesus Christ through evangelism and church planting. We accomplish that through Send North America, our national strategy for mobilizing churches to plant churches and mobilizing church planters and other missionaries to assist with those efforts. The Joshua Project:

The Joshua Project is a research initiative seeking to highlight the ethnic people groups of the world with the fewest followers of Christ. Accurate, updated ethnic people group information is critical for understanding and completing the Great Commission. Revelation 5:9 and 7:9-10 show that there will be some from every tribe, tongue, nation and people before the Throne. Joshua Project gathers, integrates, and shares people group information to encourage pioneer church-planting movements among every ethnic group and to facilitate effective coordination of mission agency efforts. Joshua Project compiles the work of numerous missions researchers to develop a list of all ethnic peoples that is as complete as possible.

The Joshua Project has extensive research available about the unreached people groups of world as well as statistics about different areas of the world. The Joshua Project is a great resource for those wanting to learn more about unreached people groups and ways to pray for the world.

Hope Women’s Center:

Hope Women’s Center began in 1990 as Tri-County Pregnancy Center. The location was near the boundaries of the Greenville, Pickens, and Anderson county lines. The goal was to reach the women in those counties who had no other place to go to receive help for their crisis pregnancies. TCPC’s first location was on Hwy 123 in the building with Good News Travel Agency. The center had one office that doubled as a counseling room, one main counseling room and one bathroom. Those little rooms were always busy meeting the needs of women who saw the sign and heard that there were people who cared for them. As the center grew and began meeting needs of women mostly from the Pickens County area, it moved farther down Hwy 123 to Cross Creek Plaza and built a facility next door to Christian Supply Bookstore, where it stayed for two years. The facility was very adequate and seemed to be in a great location. Christian Supply became Crossway Bookstore and needed more room, and TCPC’s lease ran out! It was then, in 1993, that the house, which was once the parsonage for Arial Baptist Church, was put on the market and TCPC found a new and permanent home! This new home is more than adequate to meet the needs of the ministry and the needs of the community. In 1997 the Board of Directors and staff of TCPC, along with the leading of the Holy Spirit, decided that Hope Women’s Center more properly spoke of the ministry’s desire to reach out to the community and the women in need. Since its birth in 1990 the pregnancy center has ministered to several thousand women and celebrated the birth of numerous babies. Hope Women’s Center has also seen many souls brought into the Kingdom of Christ, all to the glory of God.

United Christian Ministries:

In the name of Jesus Christ, United Christian Ministries (UCM) exists as an extension of the local church community, working together to help people meet their basic needs by offering direct services, education, and advocacy.

United Christian Ministries was formed in 1989 by a group of area church leaders who realized the need for a cooperative ministry to meet the basic needs of persons in crisis in Pickens County and the area of northern Anderson County known as Powdersville. The founders recognized the value of combining their resources and developing a system of record keeping and accountability to best address genuine needs of their neighbors.

UCM opened its doors to persons in need in July, 1989, with approximately forty-eight supporting churches. Presently, over 80 area churches provide resources through faithful giving of financial gifts, donations of food and clothing, and sending wonderful volunteers who are truly the hearts and hands of UCM services.

In late 2001 UCM joined with Samaritan Health Clinic (SHC) to form the collaborative known as Good Samaritan Alliance. January, 2003, marked a significant milestone for UCM when we moved to our present home, which is the Good Samaritan Alliance building shared by both UCM and SHC.
