The book of Jonah is first and foremost about God’s love for people, but at the same time, it’s about how those who claim to be closest to God are very often those whose hearts are farthest from God’s own heart. In this book, God calls us to show to others the same mercy, grace, and compassion He has shown to us.
While we as Christians love to rejoice in God’s mercy and grace and compassion towards us, we often fail to rejoice when God shows other people mercy and grace and compassion. When will we begin to look on others with compassion?
