God Wants More For You. So Do We.

Introduction to Hebrews

Starting soon, we will begin a three-part study through the book of Hebrews. The book of Hebrews is all about the all-surpassing greatness of Jesus and why we, as His followers, should remain faithful to Him through all of life’s trials, temptations, and circumstances. Part one of our study will last eight weeks, Lord willing, will take us from Hebrews 1:1—5:10, and will show us that we should remain faithful to Jesus because He is greater than all else. After part one, we will take a short break from Hebrews and study another section of Scripture. Part two of our study will last twelve weeks, Lord willing, will take us from Hebrews 5:11—10:39, and will show us that we should remain faithful to Jesus because He is the Great High Priest of a greater covenant. After part two, we will take a short break to study another section of Scripture. Our final part, part three, will last nine weeks, Lord willing, will take us from Hebrews 11:1—13:25, and will show us that we should remain faithful to Jesus because our trials are not in vain.

The folks over at The Bible Project do a great job of providing helpful videos on YouTube that provide overviews of the various books of the Bible as well as videos that cover biblical-theological topics (such as covenant, God’s presence, the Shema, etc.). I have imbedded their video for the book of Hebrews. The overview is helpful and will hopefully help you get the big idea of Hebrews as well as prepare you for this upcoming study (all rights for the video belong to The Bible Project).

I pray that as we begin this journey together, the Lord will begin to work in each of our hearts to prepare us for what He has to say to us through the book of Hebrews.
