God Wants More For You. So Do We.

What to Expect

WHERE DO I PARK?

We have 2 large parking lots located on the east and west sides of our church buildings. There is a smaller lot in the center of the church property between our sanctuary and Family Life Center. Handicapped parking is available in all three lots.

WHERE DO I GO?

If you are coming for worship, the best place to enter the sanctuary is through the front doors adjacent to Saluda Dam Road or via the handicap ramp on the west side of the sanctuary. If you are coming for Sunday School, most adult classes are located in our sanctuary building. You can enter through the front doors or via the handicap ramp on the west side of the sanctuary. We also have a young married couple’s class meeting in the conference room above our Family Life Center. This class is accessed easily by entering the church office entrance in our Family Life Center building. Youth (Grades 6th-12th ) meet on the main floor, or upstairs, in the sanctuary building. If you enter on the west side of the sanctuary building, follow the hallway leading towards the back of the building. Enter the 3rd door on the left for the youth classroom. Nursery for infants and toddlers is located in the Child Development Center building which may be accessed by stairways on both the east and west sides of the sanctuary building. Preschool (3-4-5’s) – 1st grade meet on the lower level of the sanctuary building, which may be reached via an entrance off the center parking lot on the east side of the sanctuary; this class may also be accessed from the upstairs using stairways on either the east or west sides of the sanctuary building. Grades 2-5 meet upstairs on the main floor of the sanctuary building. Using the handicapped ramp on the west side of the sanctuary building, you should take the upstairs hallway to the right leading east. Gr. 2-5 will be in the first classroom on the right. If you have entered on the lower level east, then take the first stairway to the left. The classroom is to the right once you have reached upstairs.

WHAT ARE WORSHIP SERVICES LIKE?

Our Sunday morning service is a blend of classic hymns and more modern worship songs. We recognize that not everyone’s musical preference is the same, but we find great joy in occasionally setting aside our own preferences for the sake of encouraging and edifying the different members of the spiritual family that God has joined together here at Georges Creek. We also recognize that the most important issue in music is not what style a song is, but whether or not that song is biblically accurate and whether or not it exalts our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Jesus said that if He was lifted up, He would draw all men to Himself (John 12:32). That is what we hope to accomplish through our worship at Georges Creek. We want to exalt Jesus Christ and encourage one another to grow in His grace as we contemplate the goodness and greatness of the God who called us out of darkness into His marvelous light.

The sermons at Georges Creek are expositional. Expository preaching simply means preaching God’s Word in its proper context, explaining the intended meaning of the original authors and then showing how that meaning is still relevant in the lives of people today. At Georges Creek, we emphasize the importance of the right preaching of God’s Word.

WHAT DO I WEAR?

Dress at Georges Creek is varied. Many of our adults still wear their Sunday best, but it is not uncommon to see everything from dresses and suits and ties, to business casual and jeans and t-shirts. It is our prayer that no one will stay away because of concerns about dress. We want our services to be about what exalts the Lord, promotes growth in His grace, and fosters love between brothers and sisters in Christ.

Is There Childcare?

Yes! We have childcare during Sunday School and during the worship service. All of the people who work with the children or watch the infants have had background checks, so you can be confident and feel comfortable, knowing that your children are in safe hands.

What Happens On Wednesdays?

On Wednesdays we have prayer meeting. Wednesday evening Prayer Meeting consists of 10-25 minutes of prayer requests/time in prayer followed by an in-depth Bible study, which normally lasts between 30-45 minutes. On Wednesday evenings, we study the books of the Bible verse by verse, learning through in-depth study.
